Tips from the experts at our workshops
Updated: Feb 6, 2019
Join us for a day of workshops, demonstrations and tips and become an expert at growing your orchids.
Orchids are beautiful and charming, but also intimidating and daunting to the novice grower. The Lowveld Orchid Group wants to change that and dispel some of the myths and fears surrounding our favourite flowers. Saturday, 19 October will see many expert growers and horticulturalist show you how to pot, mount, fertilise and utilise your orchids. They'll show you how to divide those potbound Cymbidiums and what to do with your not-so-happy phallies. They'll give advice and demonstrations on how to mount orchids in your trees in your garden. And if you have questions about water-routines or pesticides, this will be the place to be.
“Physically, gardens must have boundaries. Mentally they can reach to the limits of the known universe.” - Tom Turner
Expert advice from the experts
Leon Kluge needs little introduction in the Lowveld. He was born and raised here in the Lowveld and then went on to conquer the world with his amazing designs. He has won a gold medal at Chelsea, the Gardening World, Philadelphia Flower Show and the Singapore Garden Fesival. He also has his own TV series called 'The Rebel Gardener' and has installed some of the most iconic gardens recently seen in South Africa. And he will be on hand to give advice on how to design your dream garden for your orchids.
We'll reveal more top experts in the next few weeks, so keep coming back here for more information.
And how much will this all cost? You can buy a ticket on the day for R100, which will give you access to the full day of talks as well as entrance to the show. This is a day not to be missed!
